In August 2023, "wakasa Kajitsu" will have its grand opening along the coast of Ano, Obama City. The ryokan, once a symbol of the community, has been fully renovated and transformed into a hotel that blends traditional and modern culture. There are a total of 13 guest rooms in the main building, a detached building, and an annex. In addition, there is a warehouse and an outside hot spring.

This inn opened in October 2020 in the village of Shitsumi, located on the coast of Wakasa Bay. The once bustling guest house and detached house have been renovated and reborn as an auberge of the sea.
There are two accommodations, "House SEN" and "Guest House KYUBEE. The guest house has a lounge with drinks and a space lined with bookshelves and tables where you can spend your time as you like, and Wi-Fi is available free of charge.

Shimojo | Auberge where you can enjoy Wakasa Fugu Blowfish cuisine (Obama City)
Shimojo, a Wakasa Fugu Blowfish inn, is located in Ano, a fishing village rich in nature. The inn consists of a main building, a new wing, and a detached house, and all seven guest rooms are luxurious and newly renovated in spring 2023.
The designer Japanese/Western-style rooms in the main building are decorated with thick beams and mud walls that were found during demolition. The bedroom with a bed and the living room are connected to each other, providing a spacious atmosphere.

The main dish is Wakasa Fugu Blowfish. The fugu used in the cuisine is raised for two years from young fish in our own fish farm. The basic Wakasa fugu course is a hearty meal that includes tesa and tecchiri, boat-loading, grilled (or boiled) fish, grilled scallops (in winter, steamed oysters in an earthen kettle), and other dishes.

Hotel Sekumiya (Obama City)
The hotel is conveniently located about 10 minutes on foot from JR Obama Station, and offers a wide range of guest rooms renewed in 2019, including modern Japanese-style rooms, Japanese-style rooms, and Western-style rooms, where you can relax and enjoy the view of the Wakasa Sea. In the town of Natasho, surrounded by mountains south of Wakasa Bay, lies the Tensha Tsuchimikado Shinto Main Office, which is associated with the Onmyouji, Seimei Abe.
Annex Tachida (Takahama Town)
Opened in May 2019, this auberge is a casual kappo restaurant and an auberge limited to one couple per day by reservation only. The building is a two-story structure, with the lodging space "Auberge Tokine no Yado Tsugumi" on the first floor and the dining space "Shion no Sato Oar (Kai)" on the second floor.

The hall of the "Tsugumi" lodging space looks like a room in a ryotei (traditional Japanese restaurant). The dynamic ink artwork by calligrapher Mami Ochi is impressive.

Herbal Village, located at the foot of Mt. Aoba, is a nature and health facility with a cafe, store, camping, BBQ, herb garden, training gym, and kids' playground. Visitors can also experience making medicinal herb tea.
Go to Tsuruga/Wakasa on the "Hanaakari" sightseeing train, which debuts in October 2024!
In October 2024, the sightseeing train "Hanaakari" will debut on the JR Obama Line. The train will run between Tsuruga, Fukui Prefecture, and Kinosaki Onsen, Hyogo Prefecture, for approximately five hours between October and December 2024.
One of the three cars has 10 spacious private rooms for two people. The train will be in operation until December 2024.
The train will be in operation on Saturdays and Sundays only (except December 28 and 29) until December 2024. On Sundays, the up train (to Tsuruga) departs from and returns to Ooi Town (Wakasa Hongo Station), Obama City (Obama Station), Wakasa Town (Kaminaka Station, Jumura Station), Mihama Town (Mihama Station), and Tsuruga City (Tsuruga Station), making it a great way to tour around Tsuruga and Wakasa.
The "Hanaakari" lodging campaign was also launched!
The first 350 passengers to board the Hanaakari sightseeing train and stay overnight in the Tsuruga/Wakasa area will receive 3,000 yen worth of Fukui Happi Coins, Fukui Prefecture's digital local currency that can be used in the Tsuruga and Wakasa areas.
